Fixed Tenure
The depositor chooses the duration of the deposit, ranging from a few days to several years.
Fixed Interest Rate
The interest rate is agreed upon at the time of opening the FD and remains constant throughout the tenure.
Low Risk
It is considered a safe investment as the returns are unaffected by market fluctuations.
Penalty on Premature Withdrawal
Withdrawing the deposit before maturity usually incurs a penalty and may result in a lower interest rate.
Interest Payout
Interest earned can be paid out periodically (monthly, quarterly, annually) or reinvested until maturity.
